      6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      Check out this very cool night hike for you and your dog at Cave Creek Park, north of Phoenix.

      Ranger Mark is going to take his dogs for a hike on the Overton Trail (3.5
      miles). You and your friendly dog(s) are invited to join them!

      Experience a bit of elevation and watch the city light up as the sun sets. Bring
      sturdy shoes, flashlights, water for you and your pets, and leashes are
      required. Don’t forget, you will be required to clean up after your pet, so come
      prepared. Woof! Meet at the Nature Center

      Looking for a way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with your Arizona dog? The annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration presented by Si Se Puede Foundation honors the Hispanic community’s many contributions to the City of Chandler. The festival also features the popular Chihuahua Races and the crowning of the King and Queen Chihuahua..

      HALO Animal Rescue will be at the Chihuahua Races from 12-4 pm with Chihuahuas for adoption. Come meet your new best friend!

      Also come visit The Chihuahua Store all day at the Races and buy Chihuahua tee shirts and other items. All proceeds will help HALO Animal Rescue to save homeless pets.

      Check out the Dog Daze festival as part of Mesa’s Second Friday Night Out. There will be pPrizes for cutest dog, biggest dog, smallest dog, best dressed dog, best dog trick, person who looks most like their dog, and more!
      Dog rescue groups and dog adoptions will be available as will dog merchandise.
      Dine with your dog at “dog friendly” patio restaurants and check out the Ron Burns Dog Art show opening at Mesa Art Center

      Get out of Phoenix and head up north to the Prescott Town Square for their first ever PupCrawl.

      For a $10 donation, you will get a Prescott Pup Crawl Lanyard with VIP Badge, special discounts and gifts from the shops/bars on the Crawl. There will be live music and raffle prizes.

      Phoenix is blessed with some great in-town hiking areas that you can share with your dog. A class being offered at North Mountain Visitor Center gives you and your dog some great advice and training in a beautiful desert setting.

      Classes are taught by Leslie Spencer-Snider and cost $15 each or four sessions for $40. They are held every Saturday morning. Look for Leslie and the dogs near the picnic tables behind the center.

      Topics include:

      • Conditioning your dog and yourself for the trail
      • Proper etiquette on the trail with your dog and you!
      • Emergency first aid and how to handle an emergency
      • Hiking with a backpack on your dog
      • Proper care for your dog’s paws
      • How to handle wildlife encounters
      • How to handle horseback riders
      • How to  handle mountain bike riders

      $5 of the ticket prices go to Arizona Human Society

      Be sure to come early to participate in the pre-game Puppy Rally and vendor fair. Following the Rally will be a Puppy Parade on the warning track at Chase Field.
